About

Founder, Team Peace | Entrepreneur & Educator | Tokyo-Based NPO Leader

Thom Peace is a passionate community-builder, educator, and entrepreneur who has called Tokyo home since 2004. With over two decades of experience working across Japan and the U.S., Thom has dedicated his career to fostering cross-cultural collaboration and empowering individuals—especially young people, professionals, and international teams.

After arriving in Japan in 1994 to teach English in Kanagawa—where he first discovered the power of cultural exchange—Thom returned to the U.S. to launch an e‑commerce venture in 1996 and later managed global internship programs from 2000–2004. In 2004 he moved back to Tokyo, where since 2020, he has been guiding startups and professionals through his incubator and consulting services in Omotesando.

As Managing Director of Founder Institute Japan and a frequent speaker at entrepreneurial events like Venture Café Tokyo, Thom specializes in communication, productivity, and entrepreneurial training. He supports professionals through structured programs, workshops, and mentoring designed to help them thrive in an international setting.

Today, Thom brings his rich background in education, tech, and international collaboration to Team Peace, where he leads community service initiatives aimed at connecting Tokyo’s diverse residents through volunteer-driven projects. His lifelong mission: to bridge cultural and generational gaps and create a more connected, compassionate city.
